Since her debut in Sept. 2006 through the sketch "Instant Vlogging", Christine Gambito a.k.a "HappySlip", has shot to superstardom in the world of YouTube. In March 2007, she won 2nd place in the YouTube Video Award for Comedy in 2006 for "Mixed Nuts". Her natural flair for the medium has also entitled her to become one of the first YouTube users to become part of its revenue-sharing program.
Now, HappySlip is set to become the new "ambassador" of Philippine Tourism. While many Filipino YouTube users welcomed this development, a few doubt whether she could make a difference in the real world considering that she is a web celebrity.
But imagine how successful Philippine Tourism would be, if she could achieve the same regular visits to the country as the regular visits to her YouTube site. That would certainly be a marketing feat!
Boxer. Singer. Actor. Commercial Model. The Goddess of Victory truly favors the Pacman.
After becoming the first Filipino boxer (or the first Filipino athlete for that matter) to be given the privilege of having his own Nike site, ad campaign, and even a specially-designed crest, Philippine boxing pride Manny Pacquiao is set to make history once again.
This time, he is slated to be part of a new Nike ad campaign with ten other international star athletes. Sports and marketing pundits even report that this dream team may include Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant, among others. Although this would do little to settle once and for all the debate on whether the Pacman is the greatest Filipino boxer to have ever lived, it strongly supports the idea that he may be one if not the most successful Filipino boxer the country has even given birth to.
So while waiting for the latest Nike ad featuring the Pacman, sing-along to his music video or visit his Nike site at http://nike.com.ph/manny.
